
On Saturday, Rep. Anna V. Eskamani, a Florida Democrat, posted a video to X that showed self-professed neo-Nazis demonstrating at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs. She claimed it was “another example of the far right extremism growing in FL.” There was just one problem. The leader of the group, Christopher Pohlhaus, told reporters he’s a big fan of President Joe Biden.
“I think Biden’s better than Trump because he sends rockets to Ukraine,” said Pohlhaus, who wore a red shirt with a leather vest and bowie knife on his hip. He seemed to twitch with every word. A vein bulged out the side of his bald head. He paused as if to wonder if what he had said about Biden sending rockets to Ukraine was accurate (“Doesn’t he?”), before belting out, “Heil Ukraine! Heil Azov!” A man behind him, face covered in tattoos much like an MS-13 gang member, followed his lead with a cry of “Slava Ukraini!” He growled at bystanders later. It was a freak show.
